I decided to have my hair relaxed in a salon in our neighborhood. I was so fed up with using all the do-it-at-home hair relaxing products. I have been using it for 6 weeks, and nothing has changed with my hair. So, I had it done to have that super straight, super black Emo hair once and for all. Three days after, I notice my hair falling in big lumps! Each time I run my hand through my hair, I literally get 40-50 strands (Believe me, I counted!). Please help! Anybody experienced this before?

but not so fortunately for you because i wont be able to help. but i suppose you could always go and complain to the hair salon that 'relaxed' your hair.

Wow... that really sucks majorly! I've never experienced it before. If I were you I would walk... no... RUN back to the hair salon and ask them WTF is going on! It may be that a chemical they used to relax your hair has caused some adverse reaction. It could be possibly even something unrelated, like if you recently changed shampoo brands... OR (and this is the kick-in-the-teeth one) it could just be a hereditary trait catching up to you. I don;t know how old you are, but the later IS possible. Does your family have a history of early hair loss?

yeah just for notice peoples-
DONT GET YOUR HAIR PERMANENTLY STRAIGHTENED
it causes hair to fall out and the regrowth is disgusting.

My parents have thick hair, so I don't think this has something to do with genes. I really think the salon screwed up! I went back there a few days ago, and they told me it's just a normal reaction for those who had their hair relaxed for the first time. They said it's just a phase and that it will eventually pass. OMG, I'm worried sick that when the shedding is finally over, my hair is completely gone, as well! I'm using aloe vera on my scalp right now, as suggested by a friend. I hope it works.

You should have, at least, asked for a refund from the salon. Then, use the money to have your hair fixed. Losing hair is not a simple thing. I mean, our hair defines our look. Try to consult other hair professionals, as well. I'm not sure aloe vera really works. I think aloe vera is used to add volume to the hair by making the strands thicker, and not to stop hair fall.

The coolest danm chick you'll ever meet! I like fun, getting to know what it means to be "emo", and learning new things. I spend a lot of time at home, so some call me boring. I think I'm cool.
