Hey, guys. It's me again. I'm here to start another thread with a very big question: WHY DO YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF EMO?
As usual, let me start things off.
I think the Emo way has just found me around the corner, and thought of infusing its style unto me. I never made any effort to be Emo. In fact, I didn't know I was already one until a schoolmate pointed it out to me. Then, I realized, yeah, I look Emo, I sound Emo and I feel Emo. Alright then, I'm Emo! Did you somehow get my point?

I get the same feeling too! I think it just creeped into my life, like a predator looking for its target. As I started living my emo life, I slowly began to realize why I am an emo. I am a very deep thinker, and a very unstable person with wild emotions suppressed inside me. I haven't released these emotions yet. But when the right time comes when my emotions are unleashed, I hope I'm ready. I hope everyone around me is ready.

Count me out! I chose to be emo myself, and not the other way around. I think one should embrace being an emo by first accepting and understanding its principles, and then fusing it into your lifestyle. That's how I did it. Therefore, I am an emo because I live and breathe the emo lifestyle... I am dark, brooding, sentimental, mysterious, and just a tad cool.

I am emo because i am at a stage in life where i do not care about what people think of me. I prefer to wear black
becuase it gives me confindence in who and what i am. I love being emo at the moment

I get the whole... it just creeped up on me. Still creeping really(have i mentioned i feel like a baby/newbie around here  ) I didn't notice it until some evil prep(>l) decided to harras me about it in gym. I had no idea i was even close to it! I mean...i guess i kinda knew. I like to write, and i'm quiet and introspective, and i like to draw, and all i want to do is listen to good music 24/7. But i do like emos, so *snap* emo (trying not to b a poser!)

I don't really define myself as emo.
I possess some typical traits, but really, I just prefer the alternative lifestyle.
May it be punk/goth/emo/hippie whatever, but it just gives me much more individuality and freedom to break away from the norms, really.

it was kind of the same for me as it was for some others. it was just around the corner for me. and the thing that made me take that corner
was my grandmothers death.

You know what I think, 'emo' is short for 'emotional', right? So, therefore, most people are 'emo'. But stereotypes say otherwise.
A stereotypical emo wears black, cuts, has black hair and lots of piercings. Not all 'emo's are like that.
Personally, I don't wear overly much black. I tend to go for blacks, whites, greys and reds though. They're simple colours. And in summer, I wear whatever is comfortable depending on the weather. (I know it doesn't seem so 'emo', but hey.)
A lot of my friends wear black and everything, but they don't consider themselves emo. They tell me that they hate stereotypes, and scene kids. (Which doesn't really make overly much sense seeing as 'scene kid' is a stereotype.) Really, though.
Right now, like BlackStarsKill, I don't really care how people see me right now. And I believe that individuality is important. So...yeah.

some may find this funny but
last night i was at my schools home comming football game and this little girl who was about maby six years old came up to me and asked me if i was goth
i think it was cus my eyeliner was so thick i looked like i had two black eyes and i was in all black

Yeah, dont listen to the cupcake girl. she is a weirdooooooo :P

i never said that any thing was wrong with goths i think that it is kind of funny for a little kid to come up and ask me if i was a goth
i do not discriminate against goths or emos cus i am emo

For me, i was in love , I've really loved My KIKI who loved me 1st, for a Year .. =/
But in the first time i didn't know that i love him, but when he left me i got a terrible and Horrible feelings, i felt the sadness in my heart, i felt the darkness, i knew then that my life is finished, because i spent all my time remember him, crying for him, missing him, i became more sensible .. i don't talk to anybody, i knew then that I'm emo girl, specially i started to drew Death's-head .. etc
OoKk, i feel now like it's the End of my life .. =/ UFF
is it a good reason for you ?!?! For me and for my feelings Yes .. =/

i was bullied really bad at my other school. it got so bad, i had to change schools, theres only like 100 kids at this school. 12 boys and 3 girls inmy class. 7th grade. they hate me at this school too. but im use to it. i dont get insulted because according to one boy "the insults bounce off of me"
and i love alex, and he knows but he likes alexis, and alexis knows too, and they swing together on the swings and talk and laugh and stuff right in front of me, even though both of them know i like him.

Meh, well people call me emo all the time, but frankly i don't care what people say. I'm simply myself. I do what i want, express myself how i want, act how i want, and don't conform.
I May have a undying absesive love for Emo bands ,wear make up, wear skinny jeanz, cry when girls break my heart, have pictures of skulls all over my walls, dream of being a rockstar when i'm older and site around writing dark poetry about how a feel, but that doesn't make me emo. It makes me me! I'm me, thats all that matters.

Im emo because life sucks, my 5 year old cousin has very few years to live, i am the black sheep of the family(my sis is emo too but everyone loves her regardless) ((i just hide in the shadows)) , life blow ginormous balls, ummmm lets see i have no one who REALLY understands, no one to love me ( like a bf but who gets me and isnt immature or like a boy postpuberty), and my dad is always yelling at me.
