I received an email last week regarding the uprising of some hardcore rock fans against screamo. They said that screamo isn't really a valid music genre, but rather only an offspring (or an arm) of hardcore rock and metal rock. But in my opinion, i disagree.
So, as a humble beginning to support screamo as a music genre, post here your raves about screamo! Tell the world why it should stay as an independent music genre, and not merely a copycat of hardcore rock.

I'm a die hard SCREAMO fan!!! Bands like Underoath and Escape The Fate have redefined screamo into a whole new music genre, especially because of their style and look. I think that's how we can differentiate screamo from plain rock... the latter is more focused on the music, while screamo considers the entire package altogether.

I love screamo, too! Why don't they just try to chill out and not label some other kind of music as a sub-genre of something else? It doesn't matter! Screamo does not become any less enjoyable to listen to just because it was developed from hardcore rock or metal rock (IF that is true). Everything comes from something, so why really bother?
